Create a life you desire with SMART Goals

“There came a time when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”
Anais Nin

We all want to live a passionate, purposeful life, but most people have no idea how to go about it. The NUMBER ONE THING YOU MUST DO TO HAVE THE LIFE YOU DESIRE is to create an action plan with SMART goals to turn that dream into your reality!

It amazes me, that most people put more time and effort into planning their two week vacation than they do mapping out what they would like to create in their lives.

The beginning of a new year is the perfect time to get clear on your vision and create a plan of action to make it real.

What would happen if you started to visualise your dreams, and you started to take action that was in alignment with you vision?

I think you’d be surprised. Doors will open. Opportunities will present themselves – because the universe works with you when you clearly tell it what you want.

So lets’s do this together!

Visualisation Exercise

Close your eyes and ask yourself “What is the ideal vision for my life? If this year was to be my best year yet, what would I be doing? Who would I be spending time with? What adventures would I have? How would I feel?” Take some time to write down what comes to you.

Goal Setting
Now you have clarity around you want to create in your life, you need to start to take action that reflects this desire. The best way to do this is to set yourself up for success by using SMART goals.

Specific
It is critical that you define what you want in as much detail as possible so that it is clear to you, others and the universe, exactly what you are trying to create. For example, I want to be a millionaire versus I want to make $100,000 a month by creating a new online program to support people to create a life they love!

Measurable
Measurable means objectively being able to determine if you have achieved your goal. Defining the physical manifestations of your goal actually makes it much easier to reach. Being happier doesn’t cut it. However, stating that you want to meditate daily and quit smoking works.

Achievable
Based on where you are at right now make sure that your goal is achievable. If you are currently a size 16 dress size and want to get to a size 8, unrealistic would be stating that you want to do this in one month, achievable for you might be six months.

Relevant
Based on your vision is your goal relevant and does it motivate you because you are committed to the end result. For example, if your vision involves spending more time with your family a goal to become the CEO of your company is probably not relevant or in your highest good.

Time Based
Your goal must be set up within a particular time frame. You need to define when you will start, and by when will your goal be achieved? Also make sure that your timeline is realistic.

Now you know how to define your goals for success, close your eyes again and ask yourself
“What goals can I achieve within the next 12 months that will propel me closer to my dream life and leave me feeling inspired and excited about my life?”

Once you have your broad goals in mind make them SMART. Finally, inspired action is needed to bring everything together, so once again go within and ask yourself “What three actions can I take this week that will move me toward the fulfilment of this goal?”

Creating a life you love is available to you right now. Now is your time.

So with that being said, I’d love to hear from you. In the comments below, let me know:

  1. What’s your number one goal you’re committed to making happen this year?
  2. What action are you going take this week to kick start the manifestation process.

With love,
